Client Background:
VetEd is an annual rotating conference drawing 300 academic professionals in veterinary education. In 2025, the conference’s growth and a venue challenge led the hosts, The University of Bristol, them to seek Brightelm’s professional expertise.

The Challenge:
VetEd needed a specialist conference organiser to handle budget, programme, speakers, registration, logistics and deliver a seamless event. Compounding this, the planned venue on the Langford campus (a campus 12 miles outside of the city centre) wasn’t completed on time, requiring creative use of alternative space.  Sponsorship and exhibition sales had been significantly undervalued in recent years leading to a low income from industry.

The Solution:
Brightelm introduced a per-delegate fee model to manage the conference comprehensively.  We coordinated with the campus operations team to map out space usage and signage, brought in mobile WiFi, arranged external catering, and managed transport from city hotels. Additionally we reviewed and restructured the sponsorship packages, ultimately doubling the client’s sponsorship revenue.

What our Client said:

The Brightelm team supported the Bristol Veterinary School in hosting a three-day veterinary educational conference. Jonathan Richards from Brightelm led the event management team for this project and was ever available to problem solve with us as a committee. He supported our organising committee team in considering the design and planning of the event as well as delivering the conference. His experience and knowledge were invaluable throughout to guide us. The whole Brightelm team were a pleasure to work with and their presence during the conference itself was a huge asset for our delegate experience. We are grateful for all their hard work which made our event a success.
