Brightelm celebrates Silver Award win for MLSFF at the Association Excellence Awards 2025
The Minoritised Life Scientists Future Forum (MLSFF), delivered in partnership with Applied Microbiology International and entered by Brightelm, has been named Silver Award Winner in the Best New Event by an Association category at the Association Excellence Awards 2025.
Held on 7 November at the QEII Centre in London, the awards, produced by GCN Events, honour outstanding achievement and best practice across professional bodies, membership organisations, and trade unions throughout the UK and Europe. We are delighted that MLSFF’s bold and community-driven debut has been recognised on this respected stage.
Launched earlier this year, MLSFF became Europe’s first conference dedicated to supporting life scientists from marginalised and under-represented backgrounds. Inspired by the long-standing ABRCMS conference in the US, MLSFF was created by and for the community to address a critical gap in Europe’s scientific landscape, promoting equity, visibility, and genuine, long-term connection.
Professor Emmanuel Adukwu, MLSFF Chairman, welcomed the recognition:
“I’m really pleased to see the recognition that the MLSFF conference received at the Association Excellence Awards and it is testament to the collective effort to create a truly inclusive life sciences and STEM community.”
Rob Eveleigh, Managing Director and Founder of Brightelm said:
“Creating a new event is always challenging, but in a political climate where the very foundation of inclusivity is being challenged, the achievements of this event were incredible. I’m delighted that the Brightelm team were able to contribute to something that impacted so many people.
“We are immensely proud to have supported MLSFF in delivering such a meaningful and groundbreaking event in its first year.”
